This Privacy Policy explains how Security SPY ("the app"), developed by RORE Tech, handles information on your device. Security SPY is a personal device security application for Android that silently captures photographs when user-configured applications are opened, helping device owners identify unauthorized use.
This policy applies to all versions of the Security SPY app available on the Google Play Store under the package name com.rore.securityspy.
| Data Type | Collected? | Where Stored | Transmitted? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photographs (front camera) | Yes โ locally | Encrypted on-device vault | Never |
| Facial geometry ratios | Yes โ locally | Device SharedPreferences | Never |
| App event log (timestamps) | Yes โ locally | On-device database (Room) | Never |
| Location data | No | โ | Never |
| Device identifiers (IMEI, Ad ID) | No | โ | Never |
| Contact information | No | โ | Never |
| Crash reports | Yes โ anonymized | Google Play Services (Android Vitals) | Standard Android crash reporting only |
Security SPY uses the device's front-facing camera exclusively to capture photographs when a user-configured application is opened or when the device lock screen is accessed. This is the core security function of the app.
Camera access is initiated only when a monitored event occurs. The app does not record video, does not stream to any external service, and does not access the camera at any other time.
All photographs are stored immediately in an encrypted, biometric-protected vault on your device. No photograph is ever transmitted off the device under any circumstances.
During owner registration, the app processes a photograph of the device owner's face using Google ML Kit, which runs entirely on-device. The app computes a set of numerical facial geometry ratios (not a photograph or raw biometric template) and stores only those ratios in your device's local storage.
The photograph taken during registration is processed in memory and is never stored in raw form. Raw biometric data is never transmitted to RORE Tech, Google, or any third party.
The stored geometry ratios are used only to determine whether to skip a capture when the owner opens a monitored app. They cannot be reverse-engineered into a photograph.
The app uses Android's Accessibility Service API (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE) to detect when a user-configured application is brought to the foreground. This is the only Android API that provides this capability.
The Accessibility Service used by Security SPY does not read screen content, does not interact with other apps, does not capture keystrokes or input, and does not transmit any information. It is used solely to detect app foreground events for the purpose of triggering the security capture function.
Security SPY uses the following on-device libraries and services:
| Service | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google ML Kit (Face Detection) | On-device face detection and geometry analysis | None โ runs entirely on device |
| CameraX (AndroidX) | Camera capture and image analysis | None โ local only |
| Android BiometricPrompt | Vault authentication (fingerprint / face unlock) | None โ handled by Android OS |
| Google Play Services (Android Vitals) | Standard crash reporting | Anonymized crash data only |
All data stored by Security SPY โ including photographs in the vault, the event log, and owner geometry ratios โ is stored exclusively on your device and remains entirely under your control.
You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data via Android Settings โ Apps โ Security SPY โ Storage โ Clear Data.
RORE Tech has no ability to access, retrieve, or delete data stored on your device, as we do not have any server-side copy of your data.
Security SPY is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because all data is stored locally on the device and we collect no personal information whatsoever, this app poses no known privacy risk to minors.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
